Dan: Thanks for the info. And, thanks for your comment. I edited the presentation for the managers at our hospital and got very good responses. The association with Mayo and the people at the conference helps to solidify their understanding and support of Social Media.

We changed our name to Jamestown Regional Medical Center from Jamestown Hospital when we opened a new facility on July 31. We now have 2 pages since we could not just change the name. You may be faced with that possibility. JH has 3,600 fans, JRMC has grown to 804 since we added it in August.

Thanks Kevin, Aldon and Meredith for the suggestions. I started looking at ebooks a few months ago for my own writing and got busy with the opening of the new hospital. Formatting was the main issue and royalties paid. Maybe I can use this information as incentive.

Thank you Aldon. I have an assistant, started in June. We handle all the marketing. JRMC is growing in revenue and docs. The Marketing Team is always making choices as to what gets done. Next step is to add a position, then another, and on. My goal is to create a five year structure plan that initiates positions as the business warrants.

Jamestown Hospital closed on July 31.

Jamestown Regional Medical Center opened on July 31.

Facebook policy does not allow for fan transfer due to name change.

Subsequently, we added a Facebook page, ”Jamestown Regional Medical Center.” 227 fans in the first week, now 415. This page is intended to replace the older ”Jamestown Hospital” page that now has 3,712 fans. We are posting on both pages.

So far, the most interesting data is the change in demographics. The old page is dominated by girls 24 & under, 39%. The new page is dominated by women 45 & older, 28%.

Question: When, if ever, do we stop posting on both pages?
