Twitter is working to expand its verification to everyone

Twitter created the blue checkmark as a way for users to distinguish real accounts from parody accounts. It has become an icon of credibility, however, and Twitter acknowledges there’s a problem. So now, it seems like Twitter’s going to be giving out blue checkmarks like Oprah gives out cars, starting with candidates in the 2020 U.S. election.
