Study: As It Turns Out, People Actually Trust (Some Types Of) Ads

In a recent Northwestern University survey, 400 participants ranked 20 types of advertising. Turns out that respondents were favorable towards 13 of them.

On the pllus side: price-matching, promoting positive ratings and reviews, and “social proof” such as touting a favorable endorsement from a trusted third-party.

Respondents were not crazy about paid celebrity endorsements to promote products or brands.
