Is Twitter a Forum for Disseminating Research to Health Policy Makers?
Thanks to @WestR for pointing us to this #OpenAccess article. Here are his comments:
This is an important article pertaining to the future of health and healthcare in America.
Just as President Obama used social media (e.g. Twitter) to become elected in 2008 and then again four years later, so his Health Policy cabinet members have followed suit with social media use.
Genomics is a good example. Most of the major players, particularly Francis Collins, head of NIH, as well as other rank and file members, have Twitter accounts that they use fairly regularly.
The present article provides an Intro to the general topic area, and encourages scientific researchers to get involved. Of course, I would also encourage doctors and HCPs.
