How to Forget About Work When You’re Not Working

Posted by @DanHinmon, Fri, Aug 25 10:06am

It’s the weekend – time to recharge! Forget about work.

If you’re having a hard time doing that, this article has some tips. “To wean yourself off work — and unwanted thoughts of work — you can use a combination of new habits and lessons from cognitive behavioral therapy.”

For example: “…focus on what you are going to do instead of working. Create a plan for your time away from work…. You need a specific plan, or you will return to your habits and re-engage with work when you should be away from it. The plan should focus on the activities you are going to perform instead of working.”

What have you found works to really enjoy your weekends?

This is great Dan. For those of us who work for ourselves, it’s particularly hard to switch off!
