Facebook is expanding its suicide prevention AI

If you haven’t had it happen yet, you probably will. The unfortunate situation when someone comments on your hospital’s post or sends your Page a DM threatening to commit suicide. We actually have a case study about this at our upcoming Annual Conference.

Facebook has AI that identifies words and phrases that would suggest the user is suicidal. I’m SO GLAD to see that Facebook is expanding this service!

More on this: It’s a software that can identify warning signs of users who might commit suicide. It scans Facebook posts and comments for phrases like “Are you ok?” Specially-trained Facebook employees can then reach out with resources, or even alert first responders. Thumbs up.
