Direct-to-patient email and text communication is best for engaging pa

Thanks to @westr for pointing us to this story. Bob writes:

Direct-to-patient email (or text) comunication continues to be an issue, in spite of being an old one now.

While many doctors across the country have begun using email to personalize their attention to their patients, many doctors still do not. Of my many physicians in Syracuse, for example, NONE has yet used email to communicate with me directly, and NONE are using the Paitent Portals they were required to establish for requisite meaningful use, such as email communcation (via the portal or otherwise).

This prevents patients from receiving the personalized health care that was intended via the #ACA electronic records #MU rules established during the Obama Administration.
