For those of you that didn’t have a chance to watch this documentary on PBS last night, it’s really worth tracking down and watching!
For me, it's just a great example of the power of story, and I think its good for all of us to reflect on the deeper meaning of our own organization’s story (and perhaps leveraging our origin stories better on our own digital platforms, particularly for recruiting).
I also believe it also helps explain why the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network exists, and why its special to be a part of it.
I think the Mayo’s Social Media platform, including this MCSMN, is an extension of their mission from 100 years ago – part of which is to educate. Maybe it's part of the reason why @mayoclinic has 1.88 million Twitter followers, and most of us don’t – its because their social media is deeply, deeply mission driven?
Any thoughts from the people who have seen it?
