Social Media Management Tool

Posted by Palomar Health @palomarhealth, Apr 18, 2017

Hi Everyone: I am wondering what platforms you all use to manage your social media. We are using Sprout now but are interested in adding social listening and a more robust platform. We met with Spriklr (they were insulting!) and they told us that the tool would be too overwhelming for us, and would not show us a demo! I would love to know what has worked for everyone in this group. Thanks!

We use Sysomos, which was recently enhanced. Good customer support

@MeganRowe started a discussion about management platforms in February that yielded some interesting comments @palomarhealth. Here is a link to that thread : https://socialmedia.mayoclinic.org/discussion/monitoring-and-reporting/?groupId=354&nonce=2e09a8da1d

Is this useful?

Sounds like Sprinklr has a new sales approach!

Thanks Dan. I will review that thread. Yes, Sprinkler was one of the more interesting vendor calls I’ve had in my career!

I’m on the hunt, too. I had a call with Tracx and it looked very interesting, but the price tag was too steep to consider. I have a call with a company called TrackMaven later this week. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I had the call with TrackMaven and the stats/comparisons they can compile are great, but managing day to day activities is not what this platform is designed to do. I’m thinking more and more of going to an upgraded version of HootSuite.

Does paid Hootsuite monitor public Facebook comments?

I’m currently evaluating Sprout and Social Studio. I haven’t seen enough of Social Studio yet to know if I like it, but with the price tag, it will have to be PERFECT and meet all of our needs (including an automated or very easy report of all social comments, sorted by service line) for us to purchase. I like Sprout; it doesn’t do everything we need but it may do enough to be worth it. Having all comments from various social accounts coming into one place is really nice.

Do you mean comments not on your organization’s page? That I’m not sure about. I know from previous experience, I could see and respond to comments on our page. I’ll have to check to see about comments off the page and private messages. One of our hospitals uses Sprout and they seem happy with it. I’ll check social studio.

Yes, I meant comments not on our page. Like if somebody publicly posts from their personal profile “I went to UVA Hospital and it sucked.”

I get a lot of internal requests along the lines of “Patient so-and-so said he was going to post about his terrible neurology experience on Facebook. Keep an eye out for that.”

We use Hootsuite Enterprise. Hootsuite also has a platform called Hootsuite Insights that’s for social listening – that would include the scenario you mention. I think it was bundled into our package when we purchased Enterprise.

We use Sprinklr at Mayo Clinic, and it has helped our team become much more efficient and effective in our social media monitoring, posting/scheduling, reporting, etc. I’ve come across many other companies who use Sprinklr, too, and I haven’t heard the same feedback you had. Sorry to hear that. The good news is that there are many options out there!

Just curious – what are you using to manage your social media profiles?
Other helpful details – how many profiles are you managing? Size of your organization?

Thanks for raising this question, Jessica @carterj I've merged your question with this earlier discussion. Although it's been a couple of years, I think you'll still find it helpful, and it should also lead to more comments. How about sharing how many profiles you are managing and the size of your organization?

Thanks Dan! I tried digging around, but didn't go back far enough I guess 🙂

No problem, Jessica. I realize that the search function on this site isn't always the easiest to navigate.

Hi, We just started with the Enterprise level of Hootsuite. So far, it's fine. Many of our hospitals/clinics used Sprout or Buffr. They are slowly coming around to Hootsuite. We also have TalkWalker which works with Hootsuite for a listening tool, but I haven't quite wrapped my head around it, yet. Working on it, though!
