Are any of you using Hangouts to communicate with your audience(s)?

Posted by jgiffin @jgiffin, Feb 10, 2015

Hey everyone, I’m trying to gather information about Google Hangouts as I think it’d be a great way for our providers/experts to have an interactive dialogue on various subjects with the public.

Are any of you using Hangouts to communicate with your audience(s) and do you have any do’s/don’ts on how to appropriately use them within the health care environment.

Thanks in advance for any insight/advice you can offer!

We are using Google Hangouts embedded within blog posts to conduct webinars. It’s the way we’re doing the SMHN webinars, and also our patient disease-specific webinars like this one which will be on Friday. http://connect.mayoclinic.org/event/595?year=2015&month=02&day=13

Thank you Lee! I signed up and plan on attending. Have you guys ever run into any HIPAA/security issues with these?

Here are some of my Google hangout tips and tricks:

Thanks, John! It’s a little dated, but most of it seems to hold up ok. 🙂
