Do you encourage docs to vote for you in US News Hospital Rankings?

Posted by Greg Matthews @gmatthews, Jan 19, 2016

A portion of the US News and World Report Hospital Rankings is based on physicians voluntary voting through Doximity. Do you encourage doctors (either inside or outside your system) to vote for your hospital? I don’t see anything explicitly prohibiting this practice, but am curious whether others have experience (or just opinions!) on this concept.

We recently hosted a Mayo Center for Social Media training event at our health system. As part of that visit, Dr. Timimi presented to a couple of groups of our leadership, deans and docs educating them about Doximity. We (Public Affairs and Marketing) have also sought to gain greater understanding of the Doximity system, since that visit (our dept. has not historically been directly involved). However, we are not currently taking any action to promote participation by our individual docs. We are strongly encouraging our residency program directors to make sure their program information is in Doximity and up to date. We will continue to evaluate this going forward.
