Collaborating with SocialMedia.org Health to Accelerate the Revolution

By Lee Aase, Director, Mayo Clinic Social Media Network @LeeAase

We're pleased to announce that Mayo Clinic is a founding member of SocialMedia.org Health, and that through the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network we'll continue to offer educational resources and community for hospitals of any size as well as health care professionals at all levels of social media use.

  • SocialMedia.org Health is for senior-level social media decision-makers at the largest hospitals (up to seven seats per organization). It's a vendor-free zone for peer-to-peer sharing through collaborative conference calls, a private online community and face-to-face gatherings. Learn more about benefits.
  • Mayo Clinic Social Media Network is for anyone interested in learning more about using social media tools. In addition to online and in-person community, we offer education and training through monthly webinars and our Mayo Clinic-Hootsuite Social Media Basics for Healthcare certificate. We offer both individual and organizational membership options, and would be glad to discuss which is best for you.

When Mayo Clinic began accelerating use of social media platforms in 2008, SocialMedia.org helped us connect with other large organizations (think Fortune 500 level) on the same journey. Mayo Clinic was among its first 20 members.

We look forward to working with SocialMedia.org Health to provide two great communities designed to meet the continuum of needs for our healthcare colleagues.
