2019 Social Media Residency Dates Announced

By Dan Hinmon, MCSMN Director

Social Media Residency: What is It?

For those who want more in-depth learning, attend a social media residency. Just as medical residency is more advanced than medical school, MCSMN residency goes beyond basics to specialized learning within a collaborative environment.

Residency is constantly morphing to provide the most current content, but it generally consists of:

  • What’s new and what’s coming in the major social media platforms
  • Hands-on experience with video production
  • Compelling case studies
  • Table discussions

Presenters include the Mayo Clinic social media team and members of the Social Media Network. Whenever possible we include Dr. Farris Timimi, the MCSMN’s medical director.  You can see an example of our most recent schedule below.

When Is Residency?

Our next residencies are September 23 in Jacksonville, Fla., and October 21 in Rochester, Minn, (registration to open soon) in conjunction with our annual conference October 22 and 23.

What Does Residency Cost?

For basic members, the cost is $795 and includes a one-year premium membership ($295 value). For premium members, the cost is $595.

What's The Difference Between Basic And Premium Membership?

Basic members have access to the discussion forum, blog, and daily curated News You Can Use.

Premium members enjoy free admission to regular webinars ($59 value) and learn from the Social Media Basics for Healthcare Certificate. In addition, premium members receive substantial discounts to all live events including social media residency and the annual conference.
