An Election Everyone Can Love

By Lee Aase, Director, Mayo Clinic Social Media Network

In yesterday’s #MCSMN webinar, “What Health Care can Learn about Social Media from a Grocery Chain,” Keith Boswell shared social media insights both from several years in health care, including five years as Director of Digital Marketing & Social Media at Kaiser Permanente, and from his current role as Director of Social Media Strategy for Meijer, Inc.

I had met Keith through our mutual membership in, and when I learned of his experience both in health care and now in retail, I knew our members would find his insights helpful. We enjoy getting perspectives from other industries; it was extra special to have Keith present because he has strong experience in health care, too.

Here's an excerpt, in which Keith told the story of a pre-Easter campaign Meijer ran earlier this year, which invited consumers to #VotePeeps or #VoteBunny to choose the Head of the Basket.

And here's a separate slide deck Keith had prepared outlining the campaign's results:

While most of us (in the U.S. at least) have probably had all the electioneering we can stand right about now, maybe Keith's example will inspire some new and creative applications.

The whole webinar is available to premium members of the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network. See our Membership Options page for how to join.
