Grocery Chain Lessons for Healthcare

One of our goals through the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network is to accelerate the safe and effective adoption of helpful social media tools at Mayo Clinic, and also to provide resources to help our colleagues in health care venture into these spaces.

Because health care has tended to move more slowly in adopting the newer social strategies, it's helpful when we can learn from other industries.

And when we can learn from those in other industries who also have experience in and understand health care, it's a huge bonus.

That's what we have in our next #MCSMN webinar, on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. Central, "What Health Care Can Learn about Social Media from a Grocery Chain."

Our presenter is Keith Boswell from Meijer, a chain with grocery stores in six states. Keith is Meijer's Director of Social Media Strategy, and before that he spent over 15 years in healthcare digital marketing for organizations like Kaiser Permanente.

I met Keith at a conference in September, and immediately saw that he'd have some great insights to share from his retail experience, combined with a deep understanding of the particular challenges we face.
