March Webinar: Mayo Clinic Social Media Network on Blab
In just nine months, Blab.im has gotten significant traction as an easy-to-use, mobile-friendly video chat platform. While Periscope is great for interactive one-to-many broadcasts, Blab is all about group discussions.
Instead of one video perspective, Blab allows up to four video participants at a time in a format reminiscent of the Brady Bunch. We began March on Periscope with the #ScopeScope, and we'll close on March 31 at 2 p.m. CDT with the first Mayo Clinic Blab.
Janet Kennedy is a 20-year marketing and social media professional and is the Host of the “Get Social Health” podcast sharing best practice stories and interviews about social media in healthcare. Janet has interviewed medical futurists, healthcare practitioners and ePatients, digital health advocates and entrepreneurs. She is the founder of the Get Social Health Academy, a coaching and eLearning consultancy producing online courses for Healthcare Associations, Medical Societies, and private practices.
Mike Sevilla, MD is a board-certified family physician in full-time private practice at the Family Practice Center of Salem in Salem, Ohio. He also holds an appointment of Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
Involved with health care social media since 2005, Mike is considered a pioneer in the social media community that has emerged within Family Medicine. He’s a nationally-recognized speaker to physician organizations about the importance of online digital involvement by physicians, especially those practicing family medicine.
We'll discuss how health care marketers and professionals are using Blab, as well as strengths and weaknesses of Blab as compared with other live video platforms such as Google+ Hangouts, Periscope and Facebook LIVE. As experienced users, Janet and Mike will provide helpful perspective.
We'll also preview upcoming events, including our Mayo Clinic Social Media Network Member Meeting and our first Social Media Residency of 2016. The rest of the agenda is up to you, as we'll answer your questions and reply to your comments.
