Last year's first foray into hosting an international social media summit was so successful, we're heading back to Australia this coming November.
Mark your calendars and save the date! The second international Healthcare and Social Media Summit presented by Mayo Clinic (a.k.a. #MayoInOz) will be held 15-17 November 2016 in Melbourne, Australia. (See how I've adopted the international date convention?)
The 2015 event attracted more than 200 delegates from five countries who gathered to share best practices in healthcare social media, conferencing and networking. This year's organizing committee, led by #MCSMN External Advisory Board member Lisa Ramshaw, is planning an even bigger and better event. We'd love to see you there!
Those traveling from the US can take advantage of a strong exchange rate. Currently, every US dollar delivers $1.40 to spend in Australia. And if you've ever dreamt of having an Outback adventure (Ed Bennett and Cynthia Manley can tell you about that!), cuddling a koala or diving on the Great Barrier Reef, now's the time to combine a vacation in Australia with our social media summit.
Melbourne is the most european of Australia's cities and known as a foodie, shopping and cultural haven. Boasting the world's largest tram (trolley car) network, it's easy to get around to enjoy a variety of cultural and sporting events.
Several airlines currently offer great deals on tickets between the U.S. and Australia. If you're even contemplating attending and have questions about the program or want travel tips for days before or after the Summit, feel free to contact Lisa by email or Twitter. She'll be happy to hear from you!
