Social Media Residency

Just as medical residency is more advanced than medical school, our Social Media Residency goes beyond the basics to focus on choosing and using online social networking tools. We offer Residency on each Mayo campus (Arizona, Florida, Minnesota) once a year, and collaborate with SMHN members to offer this program in other settings. Host a Social Media Residency.

During our one-day onsite Residency, you’ll learn how to think strategically and tactically about:

  • choosing social networking platforms
  • aligning communications with broader organizational goals
  • branding social networks across platforms
  • monitoring and measuring engagement

With personalized guidance and encouragement, you’ll:

  • explore case examples of what works best in health care environments
  • develop a strategic plan for using social networking platforms
  • create or revise policies for safe, appropriate social media use

Getting Ready for Residency
Before registering, you’ll need to complete these prerequisites. Before attending, remember to set up personal accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Note: If you plan to use a tablet device, please install iOS/Android apps for Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, and YouTube.

Your $795 Residency Fee includes:

  • online access to online prerequisites and certification process
